London Olympic champion Ye Shiwen claimed her fourth title at the Swimming National Championships Monday by winning the women's 400-meter individual medley.
Ye, winner of the 200m and 400m medley at the London Games, won the 400m race in four minutes 34.27 seconds, which was about six seconds outside her Olympic winning result and the world record 4:28.43.
Shanghai swimmer Zhou Min timed 4:37.44 to take second while Tianjin's Pang Wenxian ranked third in 4:41.28.
"I was very tired," said the 17-year-old. "I took part in too many races which made me exhausted. I need time to take some rest."
Apart from her major events 200m and 400m medley, Ye also competed in the 200m freestyle and 200m backstroke. She won the 200m medley, 200m freestyle and backstroke titles.
"My effort paid off," Ye said. "And I will do my best in the future."
