Chinese shares closed mixed on Wednesday, propped up by the liquor and coal industries.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index went up 0.02 percent, or 0.35 point, to end at 2,226.13.
The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 0.34 percent, or 30.82 points, to 8,962.30.

Over 70 percent of all shares saw declines on Wednesday, although strong performances in the liquor and coal sectors prevented further losses.
Jiugui Liquor Co., Ltd., which previously suspended production in November 2012 after its products were found to contain excessive amounts of plasticizer, gained by the daily limit of 10 percent to 23.77 yuan per share.
Affected by Warren Buffett's possible acquisition of Suntech, which was once one of China's largest PV enterprises, Xi'an Longi Silicon Materials Co., Ltd. surged by the daily limit to 8.01 yuan per share.
The medical device, bio-pharmaceutical and environmental protection sectors bucked the trend, decreasing by 2.07, 1.57 percent and 1.53 percent, respectively.
