Bayern and Dortmund remain relentless in German Bundesliga

Newly crowned Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich sealed their 25th win of the season against hapless Nuremberg while Dortmund showed no mercy against bottom side Fuerth to wrap up a 6-1 win at the 29th round on Saturday.

Bayern Munich second string sealed an expected but convincing 4-0 victory at the Bavarian derby over Nuremberg thanks to the goals by Jerome Boateng, Mario Gomez, Rafinha and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Although Jupp Heynckes fielded a second string, their offensive skills did not lack as Boateng caught the visitors flat-footed when he broke the deadlock with a volley sideways scissor kick from 11 meters, following a rebound at the 5th minute.

Boatengs through ball set up Bayern's second goal as Mario Gomez nailed the ball from the penalty line into the far post corner to beat Nuremberg keeper Raphael Schaefer twelve minutes later.

The German record champions continued their run on Nuremberg's goal to make it three at the 24th minute through Rafinha, who slotted home into the far post corner following a through ball by Claudio Pizzaro.

Two minutes into the second half Nuremberg had the chance to reduce the lead to 3-1 as Rafinha brought down Mike Frantz inside the box but Timmy Simons attempt from the spot was denied by Bayern keeper Tom Starke.

At the 56th minute Bayern clinched the victory ahead of time as Xherdan Shaqiri netted the fourth goal. From the on the hosts took it easy as Nuremberg were unable to threat Bayern's defence until the end of the Bavarian derby.

Mario Goetze and Ilkay Guendogan donated each one brace for Dortmund to spell out the 17th win of the season.

The "BVB" pounded last positioned and newly promoted side Greuther Fuerth 6-1 to inflict the hosts' 18th loss of the season.

The visitors from Dortmund caught a perfect start as Goetze shrugged off one defender to score from 15 meters into the near corner. Only three minutes later Guendogan doubled the lead as he made use of a square pass by Jakub Blaszczykowski inside the box to tap in from very close range.

Also Goetze wrapped up his brace as he had all time and space at the penalty line to make it 5-0 on the scoreboard.

Finally, at the 71st minute Fuerth were able to score their consolation as Edgar Prib danced through Dortmund's defence to beat Weidenfeller into the far post corner.

Nonetheless Dortmund put an end to the goal festival as Robert Lewandowski extended his goal tally to 22 goals, exploiting a Blazszykowski cross at the 80th minute.

Third positioned Leverkusen and fourth placed Schalke share points after a 2-2 tie in a see saw match, as the "Werkself" wasted a 2-0 lead within 16 minutes.

Leverkusen established a 2-0 lead within 58 minutes owing to the goals by Simon Rolfes and Michael Kadlec.

Schalke reduced Leverkusen's lead to 2-1 at the 71st minute when Teemu Pukki tapped in a rebound from close range. The goal gave the hosts a boost as they pressed Leverkusen into defence.

However, a converted penalty by Raffael secured a 2-2 draw for Schalke, as Leverkusen Omer Toprak fouled Pukki inside the box to earn a straight red card at the 86th minute.

Elsewhere, Hamburg defeated Mainz 3-1 to recover from three consecutive losses, Wolfsburg shared points with relegation threatened Hoffenheim thanks to Naldos 2-2 equalizer, also newly promoted Dusseldorf and Bremen shared points following a two all draw.

The following matches are scheduled for Sunday: Stuttgart host Monchengladbach and Augsburg face Frankfurt.
