8 children stabbed to death in Australian home

Eight children aged 18 months to 15 years old have been found stabbed to death on Friday in an Australian home.

A police spokesman said all were found in a suburban home in the Queensland city of Cairns in northern Australia.

A woman, 34, was found in the yard of the house also suffering injuries. She was taken to hospital where the spokesman said she was assisting them with their inquiries.

Uniformed police and all the city's detectives swarmed the area when the bodies were discovered at 12:30 p.m. local time.
