Israeli police on Sunday detained eight members of anti-Arab group Lehava, in a second such raid on the extremist Jewish organization within a week, a police spokesperson said in a statement.

"They were arrested or detained for questioning on suspicion of incitement and calls to perpetrate acts of violence and terror for racial motivations," the spokesperson said.

The arrests took place in six cities across Israel and the Israel-occupied West Bank, including the settlement of Beithar Illit, Jerusalem, and the coastal city of Rishon leZion.

The organization has been linked to arson of the Hebrew-Arab bilingual school in Jerusalem, which has both Jewish and Arab students. Three of its members are awaiting trail, following an indictment last week for setting fire to classrooms in the school and spray-painting racist graffiti on the walls.

Earlier on Tuesday, the police arrested ten additional Lehava members, including their leader, Bentzi Gopstein.

Lehava opposes inter-religious marriages between Jewish women and Arab men. The organization was founded by disciples of Rabbi Meir Kahana and his extremist and ultra-nationalist Kach movement, which were banned from the parliament for racism in 1988 and outlawed in 1994.
