At least four people were killed and 29 others wounded after a blast hit Pakistan's southwestern city of Quetta on Wednesday night, police said.

Local Urdu TV channel ARY quoted unidentified police sources as saying it was a remote-controlled blast and the bomb was fixed on a motorbike parked outside a food shop on the Prince Road of Quetta, capital city of Balochistan Province.

Bomb disposal squad officers said an estimated 4 to 5 kg of explosives were used in the bomb.

The blast, which took place at about 7:40 p.m. local time ( 1440 GMT) , also left several nearby buildings and vehicles damaged.

Rescue team rushed to the blast site shortly after the explosion, said local media.

All the injured have been shifted to a hospital in the city. Hospital sources said the death toll might rise as at least five of the injured people remained in critical condition.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
