AC Milan loans striker Torres to Atletico Madrid

AC Milan agreed a loan deal with Atletico Madrid on Monday to let striker Fernando Torres return to the Spanish champions.

After a permanent transfer with AC Milan from Chelsea on Dec. 27, Torres was swiftly loaned back to Atletico where he built his reputation.

The loan deal will run until the end of the 2015-16 season.

"Fernando Torres returns to Atletico Madrid after an agreement reached by our club with Milan for the international striker to play on loan for the remainder of the season and one more," said an official statement from Atletico.

Torres scored just one goal for AC Milan this season.
