Pakistan army said that Indian forces shelled its border areas and killed a 13-year old girl on Saturday.

"The Indian Border Security Forces yet again resorted to unprovoked firing on working boundary near Sialkot today. A 13 years old Sumaira resident of Chak Nihala, Zafarwal sector embraced shahadat due to Indian BSF unprovoked firing," the army said.

An army statement said that an 8 years old Mursaleen of Bhika Chak in Shakargarh sector also got injured due to Indian firing.

"Pakistani rangers befittingly responded to Indian fire," a statement from the army's Inter-Services Public Relations said.

Pakistan and Indian border forces have been involved in clashes in recent days despite a 2003 ceasefire agreement.

Cross-border shelling has again increased between the two uneasy neighbors in the disputed Kashmir region and along the Working Boundary that divides the two countries in Punjab province.

On Wednesday, Indian BSF killed two Pakistani soldiers, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry says.

A Foreign Ministry statement said the Indian Border Security Force troops had invited the personnel of the Rangers, who guards Pakistani border, for a flag meeting, but "greeted the unsuspecting soldiers with a volley of unprovoked fire".

Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad was summoned by the Foreign Ministry on Friday and a formal protest was lodged over the incident.

Indian Defence Ministry said on Friday that Indian forces neutralized a "possible terror boat from Pakistan" after the Indian Coast Guards chased a Pakistani fishing boat carrying at least four crew members and explosives. The crew members were forced to blow the boat up, said Indian Defense Ministry.
