Veratti wants to stay with PSG

Paris Saint-Germain starlet Marco Veratti has delivered a huge blow on Friday to the clubs eyeing on him by showing loyalty to the French champions with the opening of European transfer window.

The 22-year-old, who moved to Les Parisiens in 2012 from Italy' s third tier club Pescara, has been tracked by English Premier League's Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United since bursting onto the scene at PSG.

But Veratti told Gazzetta dello Sport that he's happy in Paris though holding dreams of playing in the Italian top flight.

"One day I want to play in Serie A," he said.

"Back when I used to play for Pescara, I was sought after by a lot of clubs, but if I'd ended up in Juventus I doubt they would have given me the same space that I have with PSG," assumed the midfielder.

Veratti insisted that Paris is the right place for him: "I am in a great club and I think I made the right choice, because in Italy there is less faith in youth."

"I, on the other hand, believe that if a player is good, then he should play regardless," he added.

The Ligue 1 defending champions are now the third at the winter break, trailing Marseille on three points, and have booked a two- leg last 16 meeting with English Premierships' Chelsea in European Champions League in one and a half months.

"PSG can still win everything. We are third in the league, but we'll climb back up. In the Champions League we'll try going as far as we can," commented Veratti.
