Kvitova soars into Shenzhen Open quarterfinals

World No. 4 Petra Kvitova advanced to the third round of the WTA Shenzhen Open with a straight-set victory in just 62 minutes here on Tuesday.

It only took the Czech 16 minutes to establish a 5-0 lead over the World No. 56 Bojana Jovanovsiki before she won the first set 6-1.

Jocanovsiki tried to fight back but she made too many unforced errors and lost the second set 6-2 quickly.

"We'll see what happens. I am still finding the way to make final and I'll focus on the next match," said Kvitova.

Zheng Saisai was the only Chinese player who reached the last eight after the 20-year-old beat Polona Hercog of Slovenia 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 earlier Tuesday.
