Liaoning smash Beijing as Guangdong keep winning streak

Liaoning rolled to a 120-96 victory against Beijing, breaking the defending champion's six consecutive wins in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Friday.

Lester Hudson, last season's MVP, contributed 27 points including five 3-pointer for Liaoning. Deon Thompson and Han Dejun dominated the inside by combining 45 points and 12 rebounds.

Despite former NBA player Stephon Marbury scored a game-high 31 points, Beijing never found a way to solve their poor defence during the whole match. Randolph Morris, the leading scorer of Beijing, just finished with 6 points.

"Before the match, I told my players that this would be a difficult night for us, however, I didn't expect we can defeat Beijing so easily," said Liaoning coach Guo Shiqiang. Liaoning led 10 points and the first half and stretched it to 28 points in the third quarter.

After beating Dongguan 128-114, the league leader Guangdong reached the 23th straight win to break the winning streak record of the franchise history.

Former NBA Detroit Pistons guard Will Bynum led Guandong with 37 points and 9 assists while Yi Jianlian added 36 points and 10 rebounds.

Bobby Brown and Ike Diogu scored 47 points and 33 points respectively, but none of other Dongguan player scored in double figures.

Thanks to foreign trio's combined 76 points, Qingdao run over Chongqing 134-119 to extend their winning run to 11 matches, which made them maintained third spot.

In Wednesday's other games, Shanxi edged Shandong 106-104, Guangsha overwhelmed Tianjin 114-85, Sichuan beat Fujian 105-101, Jilin cruised over Xinjiang 113-109, Jiangsu defeat Bayi 106-101, Tongxi downed Zhejiang 128-110, Foshan upset Shanghai 116-110.
