The consultations between representatives of Damascus and the opposition agreed to hold another round of talks in Moscow as their four-day discussions ended on Thursday.

The fate of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, one of the most sensitive issues, was not raised in the meeting, which a Russian diplomatic source called a "good sign", according to the Interfax news agency.

During Wednesday's talks, the Syrian opposition made a ten- point proposal to government delegation.

According to Qadri Jamil, head of the Syrian Popular Front for Change and Liberation and the Coalition Forces for Peaceful Changes, the ten points included the cessation of bombing attacks on civilians by both sides, release of prisoners, food deliveries to all Syrian regions without exception, creation of a joint human rights commission to monitor the food delivery and so on.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov earlier noted the process of Syria's settlement would be "long and complex", saying "No one has the illusions that solutions of all problems could be found during a few days."
