Chinese FM hails China-Pakistan military ties

Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi Friday lauded military-to-military relations between China and Pakistan.

During his meeting with Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff Raheel Sharif in Rawalpindi, Wang said the two countries' militaries have established friendly relations marked by mutual help and mutual support.

Describing military relations as an important part of the China- Pakistan strategic cooperative partnership and a significant content of bilateral strategic mutual trust, Wang said that further consolidating and developing military relations will not only benefit peace and stability of the two countries, but also have a significant impact on regional stability.

The Pakistani military has always been a staunch force supporting China-Pakistan friendship, Wang said, adding that he believed it will continue to play a major role in bilateral ties.

While expressing gratitude to the valuable help provided by the Chinese side, Raheel said military-to-military relations between China and Pakistan were at the best period in history.

He also said Pakistan is willing to enhance military cooperation with China and jointly fight terrorism.
