Norway tightens security after Copenhagen atttacks
Norway has tightened up security in a strong reaction to Saturday's attacks in the Danish capital of Copenhagen.
The deadly events in Copenhagen, which some Norwegian media reports said bring terror even closer to Norway, have prompted the Norwegian government to take extra security measures.
For fear that something would happen like that in Copenhagen where two persons were shot dead on Saturday, Norwegian police armed with with machine guns guarded the Literature House building in Oslo on Saturday when discussion was held on the French magazine Charlie Hebdo and expression.
Oslo police have introduced additional security measures both in general and with regard to specific events, a police officer was quoted as saying.
Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg said that police now make assessment more frequently and take decisions accordingly.
But "we will not let fear lead to major changes in our daily lives. Terrorists want to spread fear and then we shall not give in to them," said Erna.
The Norwegian minister of justice, Anders Anundsen, said that what happened in Copenhagen shows that terror is in Norway's backyard.
The Norwegian anti-terror agency PST has been constantly following those who have travelled to Syria and returned to Norway.
